Somebody's Saviour
iamwinchester
He hasn't mentioned that he stopped off to put an angry spirit out of its misery on the way back from his two-day mini-roadtrip. He doesn't mention it because he doesn't want Cas to ask him why they didn't go together. Dean knows the answer will upset the other man, so instead he's bringing back supplies for what's going to be more freedom for Cas and some time they can use to look over the books he's picked up. He hasn't told Cas just how many libraries he's scoured since the wings appeared, but that's not important anyway. What's important is that he needs the answer.

When he steps foot through the door it's as he's slipping his cell back into his pocket. As much as he's not going to say it where anyone else can see or hear it, he's missed Cas too. But that much is obvious in the smile he's wearing as he sets his sights on the other man.

"Did I ever play you that song by Aerosmith?" He knows Cas didn't understand his reference from before, but he can probably change that by digging out the cassette he buried somewhere at the back of his collection.

He has to grit his teeth as he pushes himself upright a little further, ignoring the pain it's causing in trying to contort his wings through the action. He doesn't care though, because right now, he wants to be able to look at Dean first.

"No matter what." It's his own agreement to the unaired statement. They've already been through far too much together to let one thing destroy it all now.

ooc; Sooo tiiired D:

"And I don't think icecream's gonna make it all the way to the cabin. Blueberries might." It doesn't seem to have much to do with what they're talking about right now, but in truth, it's got a lot to do with it. He has no idea if he's going to be able to find the fruit Cas seems to have a hard-on for, but he'll try. That and he wants Cas to try and get into a position that doesn't look like he's breaking. It's one of those times that, for an unknown reason, makes him feel semi-normal again. Like icecream and blueberries are the worst of their worries.

ooc: :( I'll get the coffee on then?

He huffs, continuing to push himself up. This time though, he get himself up onto all-fours, taking that opportunity to press a kiss to Dean's cheek. He turns then, facing backwards, legs folded on the seat. It leaves enough space for him to let his wingtips hang over the edge of the seat. Even moreso when he leans forward to rest his arms on the seatback too. That change in position is enough to have him let out a contented sigh.

"They sell fruit in cans too. We could get some of those instead." He doesn't want to waste any more time than they have to, and if that means making concessions, he doesn't care. "And if we get the right ingredients, we could attempt to make a pie from them too."

ooc; D: Then I'll be peeing all night.

"Dude. I eat pie. I don't make it." He's not planning on starting now either. Getting Cas's favorite food is one thing. Baking is something else entirely. He knows he's lost points on some of his macho tendencies just being in a relationship for this long. Using time they could be spent naked cooking instead is just that step too far.

"But don't let me stop you. I'll eat whatever you put in front of me." And he'll lie if it sucks too.

ooc: The way I make my coffee? You won't just be peeing.

"I don't know how to cook anything, Dean. Why would I know how to make pie?" Given all he knows firsthand about food involves 'how to order at a diner' and 'what snackfoods are best for a long journey', it's to be expected.

He drops a hand to the seat, sliding it across to rest on Dean's thigh instead, wanting that contact back now that he's moved. "Maybe we should just get pre-made food so we don't have to waste any time preparing it ourselves."

ooc; You decaffeinate your coffee?!

"'cause you're the kinda person who'd learn just 'cause I like them." He thinks it's a pretty accurate description of what kind of person Cas has turned out to be. It's impressive considering he's spent so much time with Dean.

"But pre-made's good. I like pre-made." Mostly because he's got no interest in how the food he fills his stomach with ends up that way.

ooc: ...that would make it pointless. No, I tend to make it so strong it ends up being a powerful laxative to the untrained digestive system.

He cuts off his own answer at the first comment, knowing that anything he says will be nothing but a lie. He really would learn to make them just because they're something Dean likes. But given how close they've tended to be to diners or stores, he's never had to learn.

"How long until we reach the store?"

ooc; And diarrhoea is better than peeing too much?

"Ten minutes." Mostly because he's taking it steady with his speed. The way Cas is sat means his attention is only half on the road despite knowing the sooner they get to the store, the sooner they can head up to the cabin.

"Get comfortable while I'm gone."

ooc: No. Just pointing out that peeing would be the least of your problems.

"I wont be able to get comfortable until I can lie down with you again." Though that has a lot more to do with being close to Dean than letting his wings loose again. "After I've eaten though, I may go and lie down for a while in the back. Unless you'll be too bored sat up here without me." Despite the amused look on his face, there's a trace of seriousness mixed in. He'd rather stay close to Dean, regardless. So if the man wants him there, he'll find a way to sit more comfortably up front.

ooc; Yeah, I'll stick with being tired. It makes going to sleep that much easier. >>

"I'm a big boy." Which is his way of letting Cas off having to sit uncomfortably up front. He'd rather know that the guy's not in pain than have company. He's been on longer car rides on his own before and he's not going to all of a sudden be unable to deal with them anymore.

ooc: My day just got so much lamer. :\ Ugh.

"Yes, you are." His smile slowly turns into a smirk; something far dirtier than he should really be sporting. It's a sign of just where his mind goes these days when it comes to Dean, and it's all too obvious just who's to blame for that.

ooc; You're always lame.

"...yeah." He's caught sight of the smirk but he's trying his best not to act on it. There's an almost uncontrollable urge to slow down and make the most of where the conversation is headed. Instead he just tightens his hand around the wheel and clears his throat.

ooc: thanks.

His smirk starts to fade at Dean's reaction, having at least expected him to tell him to stop. Taking ahold of the back of the seat, he sits upright, using his grip to keep him from sliding off the seat.

"I want to stay up here with you. I just don't want to make things more difficult."

ooc; Always a pleasure.

"You mean not giving me a hard on while I'm trying to drive?" The response is finally there accompanied by the quirk of his lips. It's just too good to leave alone. He chooses that moment to glance across at the position Cas has twisted himself into.

ooc: ehhh.

He stares down at Dean's crotch at that, not quite catching himself in time to stop it. When he looks back up again, he just shrugs. "That too. But I was referring to not concerning you over having to keep my wings hidden."

ooc; Oooh?
